Walk through a linguistic crime scene search to uncover critical insight and clues to deception that suspects never intended to reveal. The Statement Analysis course is an interactive workshop using videos and written statements from actual criminal cases and from well-known political and sports figures, to reveal the meaning of words.
Statement Analysis is a structured method of analyzing an individual’s spoken or written words. The insight gained from the analysis provides investigators with specific interview strategies to use in follow-up interviews of suspects, victims, and witnesses. This additional insight gives interviewers increased confidence to gain the truth during interviews.
Case studies used throughout the course range from theft to homicide and espionage. Participants will analyze both what is said and what is not said, to gain critical insight and identify areas of stress that may indicate deception.
