“Adjunct Professor for Comparative Cyber Security courses at Capitol Technology University.  Tim is an Incident Response Engineer – Cyber Deception Strategy, Content Development, and Marketing, at Walmart Global Tech, where he designs and applies cyber deception theory in response to global cybercriminal threats to the largest omni retailer platform in the world.

“Previously, he was a Supervisory Special Agent and profiler with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), where he specialized in applying cyber behavioral analysis to cyber deception and online influence. Tim helped establish BAU’s Deception and Influence Group (DIG), where he pioneered the creation and application of content against cybercriminals and nation state hackers. Tim has held several roles in joint intelligence environments, including at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

“Tim is a cyber deception theorist and practitioner, speaking at conferences on cyber warfare and publishing in journals such as Journal of Information Warfare and American Intelligence Journal.   Tim is also a Senior Behavioral Consultant at Analyst1, where he writes about ransomware personalities and cybercrime culture.  Tim is also a Strategy and Statecraft Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and a Research Fellow at the NATO Veterans Initiative Research Institute.”
